These shows are sure to warm your heart and get you in the Christmas spirit!
One of Branson’s newest Christmas shows is Maxine’s Christmas Carol, playing for a second Christmas season at the Andy Williams Performing Arts Center. Everyone’s favorite curmudgeon, Maxine has been one of Hallmark’s most beloved characters for the past 30 years, and now she makes the leap to the stage in this live-action reimagining of Charles Dickens’s A Christmas Carol. Maxine’s sarcastic and salty attitude is sure to have your entire family in stitches as she is visited by three ghosts on Christmas Eve: the ghosts of Christmases past, present and future. This trip down memory lane and glimpse into the future cause Maxine to have a change of heart by the end of the show, and your heart is sure to be filled with Christmas joy at Maxine’s transformation. This hilarious and heartwarming show will please your entire family!
For an over-the-top Christmas spectacular unlike anything else you will see in Branson, be sure to book tickets for Christmas Wonderland at the King’s Castle Theater. This traditional Christmas show features one of largest and most talented casts of singers and dancers you will see anywhere in town! Your family will be amazed at the awe-inspiring and festive Christmas decorations, the lavish sets, and the intricate costumes, not to mention the world-class singing and dancing. The large song and dance numbers are surely a sight to behold, and you’ll hear all of your favorite Christmas tunes, including “Happy Holidays,” “Santa Claus is Coming to Town,” “Deck the Halls,” “Silent Night,” “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” and more.
One of Branson’s most dynamic performing families, the Bretts, put on a Christmas show that is not to be missed! The Brett family has been entertaining Branson audiences for 17 years, with over 4000 live performances under their belts. This hardworking family brings their signature high energy, top-notch vocals, hilarious comedy, and graceful dancing to their Christmas show, now playing at Dick Clark’s American Bandstand Theater. Setting the Bretts’ Christmas show apart from the rest is their moving and patriotic tribute to our nation’s veterans. Written by Andrea Brett herself, the mini-musical I’ll be Home for Christmas honors those who have served and encourages the rest of us to remember their sacrifice.
Another Branson holiday favorite is the Hughes Brothers Christmas show. Brothers Marty, Jason, Adam, Ryan, and Andy lend their tight family harmonies and incredible showmanship to some of your favorite Christmas tunes in this unique show. One of the things that makes shows at the Hughes Brothers Theater so special is that shows there are a true family affair: in addition to the five Hughes brothers, each of the brothers’ wives and children also make appearances in the production. All in all, there are 45 members of the Hughes family, and they all perform in the show in one way or another! The Hughes Brothers Christmas show does a beautiful job of combining new and exciting aspects of the Christmas season with the time-honored traditions audiences have come to expect from their show. One special segment of the production features Santa Claus explaining the meanings of some of the Christmas season’s most recognizable and beloved symbols. What’s more, if you arrive early for the Hughes Brothers Christmas show, you could treat yourself to a Christmas feast! The menu includes a crisp salad, succulent pork tenderloin and herb roasted chicken, a variety of sides, and a decadent dark chocolate mousse for dessert. They even have a kid’s menu for the smallest members of your family!
